
The third edition of the Climate Adaptation Mission Forum was held on May 23, 2024, in Brussels. The event brought together regional leaders, experts, and representatives from across Europe to discuss and promote climate adaptation initiatives and shape the future direction of the Mission. During the forum, regional initiatives on adaptation were showcased and key topics such as the integration of adaptation funds, connections with other Mission cities, and the accelerated implementation of climate adaptation were addressed, aiming to streamline assessments and develop measures that can be quickly implemented.
The forum underscored the necessity of collaboration, cross-sectoral cooperation, and cross-fertilization to effectively address the effects of the climate crisis. It highlighted the importance of investing in preventive measures and adaptation strategies as a top priority. Additionally, the need for adequate financing and funding, along with multi-level governance approaches, was emphasized to ensure effective adaptation.
The forum concluded with a shared sense of commitment and urgency to advance climate adaptation measures, aiming for a resilient and sustainable future for all.
Municipality of Fundão was present at this event emphasizing its ongoing commitment as a signatory to the European Union's Climate Adaptation Mission Pact and as a member of the DesirMED in strengthening local and regional climate resilience, sharing its experiences, and learning from other European regions and projects.
