DesirMED at H2020 REST-COAST annual meeting

On April 19, REST COAST project held its annual meeting in Groningen, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Nature-based solutions (NbS) in aquatic systems.

DesirMED was invited and actively joined a workshop on crafting adaptation pathways. A key issue was the quantification of tipping points to help establish the guidelines and pathways into the future.
REST-COAST aims at the large-scale restoration of coastal ecosystems through river-sea connectivity. For each case study in the nine pilot sites, the project is implementing a series of solutions, both in terms of restoration interventions, hydraulics, and governance, prioritizing NbSs.

Exchanging ideas with numerous peers and projects who share common visions towards ecosystems’ restoration and the upscaling of NbSs was truly inspiring.
