DesirMED Adaptation Exhibition 2025
DesirMED Adaptation Exhibition 2025

On the 3rd of June the DesirMED Adaptation Exhibition took place in Athens in the context of Circle the Med Forum.

DesirMED Adaptation Exhibitions aim to showcase successful examples of climate adaptation and NbS, open a dialogue on resilience and reach younger audiences.

This year, the Exhibition included:

-A poster exhibition overviewing the transformational journeys of the 8 DesirMED regions, beginning from their main climate vulnerabilities and socioeconomic context to the NbS planned in the context of the project.

-Two roundtables dedicated to green investments and small islands empowerment powered by DesirMED.

-A networking workshop dedicated to EU grants for a resilient, green and inclusive Mediterranean.

-A session dedicated to youth, where university students from Greece and Croatia pitched their ideas for NbS and water management to reach climate resilience in urban areas.

The session was the closure of the ideas’ competition released by DesirMED project during the last months. The students have submitted their ideas through the Forum’s dedicated platform and had the opportunity to further evolve them during the event under the guidance of experienced mentors. At the end, they presented their final ideas to the audience.

After an evaluation by a committee constituted by DesirMED partners, the winning team was announced with the topic “Nature-based Wastewater Treatment in Lake Pamvotida”, an NbS concept focused on the implementation of hybrid constructed wetlands.

In the same session, we collaborated with our sister project, CARDIMED, and learned how they plan to promote climate adaptation through NbS.
