The CMCC participated in the 7th MedCLIVAR Conference and the 12th SISC Annual Conference, held from 24 to 27 September 2024 at the University of Salento in Lecce, Italy. This event was co-organized by the University of Salento, SISC (Italian Society for Climate Sciences), and the CMCC, marking a unique joint MedCLIVAR-SISC 2024 Conference. The gathering brought together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from various disciplines to discuss the pressing challenges of climate change in the Mediterranean region.

During the event, Christian Simeoni presented the DesirMED Project in SESSION S10: Climate Adaptation Strategies, which gathered diverse ongoing experiences and best practices related to climate adaptation in the Mediterranean region. This session was directed at both local authorities and the scientific community, aiming to provide an integrated perspective on climate adaptation issues. The session encouraged researchers to share their practical experiences in developing multi-sector adaptation strategies, addressing both sector-specific and cross-cutting challenges.

The MedCLIVAR-SISC 2024 Conference was a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas with experts in climate science, fostering new synergies between researchers and other professionals from diverse sectors and regions.
