The DesirMED photo Exhibition took place between 19-21 May in Piraeus, Greece in the context of the Circle the Med Forum.
The photo exhibition aimed to highlight, through photographic documentation, how collective or individual efforts, whether structured or impulsive, are instrumental in transforming landscapes of the Mediterranean. The main message expected to be echoed through this exhibition was a ray of hope and resilience, the timeless power of nature and the great potential of human collaboration.
The photos were exhibited in the context of DesirMED Adaptation exhibition that included also the project poster and videos promoting Nature-based solutions and the DesirMED Climate Ambassadors network.
15 photos were selected through an open contest process to be finally exhibited.
The winner of the DesirMED photo competition, Andrea Belmartino, a young Italian researcher, was also announced for the photograph “Natural Revenge.” As a prize, Andrea will join DesirMED partners at the upcoming 1st DesirMED Adaptation Festival, taking place on 25–26 September 2026 in Larnaca, Cyprus (more details will follow).
