On May 5th, the Municipality of Fundão organised the 2nd DesirMED Regional Workshop Beiras e Serra da Estrela: “Structuring Pathways for Climate Resilience".

The second edition of this workshop brought together representatives from public entities, academic institutions, project partners, experts and regional stakeholders, with the main objective of promoting the joint construction of climate adaptation strategies for the Beiras e Serra da Estrela territory.

During the morning, the initiative provided a collaborative working and strategic reflection space around the main climate challenges affecting the region, encouraging the definition of transformative pathways capable of strengthening the resilience of the territory and its communities. In this context, adaptation approaches based on Nature-based Solutions, sustainable landscape management, agricultural and forestry innovation, resource efficiency and the valorisation of regional ecosystems were discussed.

During the afternoon, participants visited the experimental field located at Seminário do Fundão, providing closer contact with some of the actions and approaches being developed in the territory within the framework of the project.

With the organisation of this second regional workshop, the Municipality of Fundão reinforces its commitment to building innovative and collaborative solutions to address climate change challenges, promoting the articulation between scientific knowledge, territory and community.
